-lets make a painting-

thought i would do a lil blog on how i get my paint on

almost always starts with a drawing- i did this one after being electrified by 

my kitchen light switch and was waiting for the electrician to do his thang

always a fan of cork as a surface- i use

thinners to get a rough outline of my image

onto the tile, then started laying the paint

i use really wet acrylics- it takes a few layers but i like how 

the colours sink into the surface

recently im all about indian ink^ its the bomb-

great for outlines -its blacker than black

few finishing touches..

and its pretty much done- think ill either just mount it onto a frame

or maybe start building out from it with other tiles to make a larger scale piece.

new wheels- i ditched my last bike after the wheel got kicked in and i kept falling off it- found this lil treat in a skip and so far ive only come off once*score x

-Midas Awards@Newlyn Gallery-

Last wk i was back down to kernow to hang my part of

the 2008 Midas Awards in Newlyn. It was a group show of the 7 finalists.

Unfortunately i didn't win but it was great to show in such a sweet space.

my work was being shown in the upstairs part of their new extension

setting up

that's nick- the hanging don

it had a huge 9 meter window looking out to sea- 

so had a bit of competition with the view going on

and some whack cupboards that went a bit mental under flash

the shows up for a month, so if your down that way check it out.

there are flicks of the opening etc here
